As the weekend winds down, we thought we'd share with you a few of our favorite links we found this week around the web. We hope they inspire you as much as they did us. Enjoy!
DESIGN & DECOR
The "Martinique" banana palm leaf wallpaper that dresses the walls of the Beverly Hills Hotel's Fountain Coffee Shop is distinctive and iconic. Created in 1942 by decorator Don Loper, it is probably one of the most recognizable wallpapers in the world. And it seems that the banana palm leaf is having another moment today. What do you think? Yay or Nay? Apartment Therapy explores what they call "the new botanical" in this interesting read.
FOOD & DRINK
Fall is definitely in the air this weekend, and the crisp temps make me yearn for warm blankets, steaming tea and comfort food. That being said, check out this delicious recipe for homemade oatmeal on Design Love Fest. Yum!
ART & ARCHITECTURE
Grace Bonney of Design Sponge featured this wonderful fine artist on her blog this week, and I was smitten. Ethiopian born Julie Mehretu creates these amazing explosions of color, line, and form that are just mesmerizing. Read more about Julie and her art on Design Sponge.
In honor of September 11 and in memory of the Twin Towers, we'd like to link to this stunning article in Architectural Digest that showcases eight buildings with super thin forms. Amazing.
TRAVEL & LEISURE
Manger, a beautifully inspiring blog by Mimi Thorisson and her photographer husband, Oddur, is one we had to share. Join this family's adventures as they live, love and cook in Medoc, France. Recipes included! Click here.
