"We sleep, but the loom of life never stops, and the pattern which was weaving when the sun went down is weaving when it comes up in the morning." - Henry Ward Beecher
Life is an intricate pattern, and the weaving began with time. In my mind, the most fascinating of all the master craftspersons is a weaver. That is why when a textile rep came to visit us today, I found myself inspired by the story she had to tell, and the new collection she showed. Join me in learning a little more about this beautiful assemblage, and the many hands it takes to create it:
"India, an ancient country with a rich tradition of hand-woven textiles. India, a rapidly emerging global center for state-of-the-art fabric production. Both aspects drew the design team of Pollack textiles to visit the country and explore the possibilities first hand, and the Jaipur collection is the result. Four beautiful patterns - Deity, Priya, Shisha and Jaipur - distill their experience, incorporating time-intensive hand-weaving, embroidery and block-printing techniques, as well as the capabilities of modern high-speed looms. With patterns and colors that hint at the exotic, these designs are striking in their ability to bridge cultures and make dramatic statements in contemporary settings." - Pollack Associates
Be inspired...appreciate the intricacies...from loom and life.
