"My father was very sure about certain matters pertaining to the universe. To him, all good things - trout as well as eternal salvation - came by grace; and grace comes by art; and art does not come easy." - A River Runs Through It
As a designer and the writer of this blog, it is my turn to chose a favorite film. I do so reluctantly, as there are just too many. But if I must pick one, A River Runs Through It possesses a simplistic beauty that has been inspiring my interiors lately. For me, this movie captures a genuine emotion that strikes home. It's gentle, poetic and it reminds me that we all have particular moments (whether large or small) in our lives that change us. I'll never get over the letter that Norman writes to Jesse...makes this girl cry, every time. And how the father taught him as a young boy to keep shortening his written works. It's a good reminder that editing is so important in our words and in our designs. Less is more...and beautiful. Sometimes as designers we must tap into the soul of a fisherman. It takes time, patience, albeit grace, to create a space with simplistic beauty. It's an art..."and art does not come easy."
Be inspired. Get lost in a film.
